Reuben J. Moody

Services for Reuben J. “Pooche” Moody will be at noon Thursday at Mount Pisgah M.B. (Hickory Tree) Church, Bovina Cutoff Road. Burial will follow at the church cemetery under the direction of Dillon-Chisley Funeral Home. Visitation will be at the church Thursday from 11 a.m. until the service.
He died Friday, July 29, 2011, at his sister’s residence in Kosciusko. He was 72.
He was a member of the Church of Christ and retired as a staff sergeant from the U.S. Army after 21 years of service and two tours of duty in Vietnam. After retirement, he lived and worked in Germany before returning to Mississippi in 1998.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Humphrey “Son” and Ruby S. Moody; and eight siblings, Rufus Moody, Louise Moody, John W. Moody, Judge Moody, Berdon Moody, Leon Moody, John T. Moody and Alonzo Moody.
He is survived by five sisters, Lula M. Burks of Utica, Mary Bell Sutton of Canton, Laura Bell Moody of Jackson, Nettie Doss of Kosciusko and Ruth M. Byrdsong of Nashville; and nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives, including Marguerite Moody of Memphis and Shirley Moody of Cleveland, Ohio.
