The gold star Vicksburg ‘revenuer’ honored 128 years after killing

Bettye Gardner holds the Gold Star Medal which was posthumously presented to her great-uncle William Henderson Foote, the first African-American federal law enforcement officer killed in the line of duty. Foote was killed in 1883 in Yazoo City.
