Mr. Freeman marries Ms. Stewart June 25

Walter Freeman and Elizabeth Stewart were married at 5 p.m. June 25, 2011, at the VFW.

The bride is the daughter of Dorothy L. Stewart. She is the granddaughter of Mary Marshall.

The groom is the son of Patricia Freeman and the late Walter Freeman. He is the grandson of Laura Buck.

The bride was given in marriage by her brothers, Eddie Stewart and Wilbert Barnes. Her chosen colors were purple, lavender and white.

Music was provided by DJ Reo Slaughter.

Maid of honor was Linda Love, sister of the bride. Matron of honor was Debra Curtis, sister of the bride.

Bridesmaids were Tammy Stewart, Elizabeth Caples and Latrina Mayfield, all daughters of the bride; and Mary Rather, Tina Ware, Patricka Flagg and Glentrice Hunter.

Junior brides were Tashonda Stewart, Anaya Peoples and Tamaya Stewart, granddaughters of the bride.

Serving as best men were the groom’s brother, Dontay Freeman, and the groom’s cousin, Marvin Freeman. Groomsmen were James East and Christopher Galloway, grandsons of the bride; Reginald Jones and Dewayne Williams, cousins of the groom; Sammy Stewart, brother of the bride; and Martez Jones, cousin of the bride.

Junior groomsmen were Treyvon Stewart, Anthony Stewart and Maurice Andrews, grandsons of the bride.

Ushers were Christopher Galloway and Martez Jones.

Flower girls were Ja’Kya Caples, Ka’Zaria Caples and Tameia Stewart, granddaughter of the bride. Ring bearers were Joshua Peoples and Zayvian Caples, grandsons of the bride.

Jacqueline Peoples, daughter of the bride, served as mistress of ceremonies.

A reception followed the ceremony. Hostess was LaToya Smith.

The couple will make their home in Vicksburg. The bride is employed at River Region Medical Center.
