Southern Miss inks home-and-home football series with Boise State

HATTIESBURG — Southern Miss announced Wednesday that the Golden Eagles will play a home-and-home football series with Mountain West Conference member Boise State beginning with the 2012 season.

The two teams will play in Hattiesburg on Oct. 6, 2012, and the Golden Eagles will travel to Bronco Stadium in Idaho on Sept. 28, 2013. The 2012 season will be the 100th-year anniversary of Southern Miss football.

Heading into the 2011 season, the Broncos are ranked No. 7 in the USA Today Coaches Poll.

With the addition of Boise State to the schedule, Giannini also announced that the Golden Eagles have pushed back their Louisville home contest slated for Sept. 29, 2012, to 2013.
