Charles Thomas Amborn and Carrie Leigh Lathem were married at 6 p.m. June 18, 2011, at the Church of Christ in Oxford. The Rev. Franklin Poole officiated at the ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. William Herbert Lathem Jr. of Canton, Ga. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Lathem Sr. of Lathemtown, Ga., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Marshall Lawrence of Jonesboro, Ga.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Louis Amborn Jr. of Vicksburg. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joe Thomas of Friars Point and the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Louis Amborn Sr. of Vicksburg.

The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her father. Music was provided by Grace Halsey, harpist. Soloist was Cindy Lathem Cagle, sister of the bride.

Maid of honor was Mary Sue Barron of Atlanta. Bridesmaids were Beth Lathem Blocker of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Laura Lathem Brown of Canton, Ga., both sisters of the bride; Susanna Mays of Starkville; and Ellen Collier, Baldwin Harris, Ashley McArthur and Katherine Sands, all of Atlanta.

The groom’s father served as best man. Groomsmen were Andy Amborn, Chad Bounds and Rob Jones, all of Vicksburg; Brett Bailess and Walker Hengst, both of Plano, Texas; Michael Engle of Denver, Colo.; and Joe Theobald of Gulfport.

Special wedding assistant was Emily Lathem Jobe, sister of the bride.

Following the ceremony, the bride’s parents hosted a reception at the Oxford University Club. Guests were entertained with music by Cozy Corley and the Blue Gardenia Band of Gulfport.

For a honeymoon, the couple traveled on a seven-day cruise to the Western Caribbean. They will make their home in Atlanta.

On the eve of the wedding, the groom’s parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at The City Grocery in Oxford.

The bride was honored by her bridesmaids with a weekend getaway in Ponte Vedra, Fla.
