Calvin Sr. and Shirley Reed of Vicksburg announce the engagement of their daughter, Candice LaDonna, to Forris Goodwin Jr. Mr. Goodwin is the son of Forris Sr. and Kathleen Goodwin.

Miss Reed is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bennie Huell, the late David Reed Sr. and Gladys Reed of Vicksburg.

Mr. Goodwin is the grandson of the late Frank Marley Sr., Betty Marley, Dorothy Goodwin and the late James Goodwin.

The bride-elect is a 2003 graduate of Warren Central High School, where she was a member of the Student Council, National Honor Society, Magnolia Bar Mock Trial, FTA and Big Blue Color Guard.

She received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology from Alcorn State University and a master’s in public health from Jackson State University.

She was a cum laude graduate and a part of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc.

The prospective groom is a 2003 graduate of Warren Central High School, where he was a member of the Spanish Club and football team.

He attended Hinds Community College, where he was a member of the football team.

The wedding will be at 4 p.m. Sept. 17, 2011, at Travelers Rest M.B. Church. A reception will follow at Vicksburg City Auditorium. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.
