Jacob’s Ladder supporters use phones and cameras Wednesday night to capture the moment as the school for children with special needs receives a check for $10,000 for winning second place in the Tea Town USA competition last month. Jacob’s Ladder director Jasmine Free said the the 305 McAlister’s stores competed for votes to raise money for charities of choice. The Vicksburg eatery took second to McAlister’s in tornado-ravaged Joplin, Mo. Holding the oversized check are McAlister’s officials, including local manager Ken Alexander, second from left, and school board president Kathy Conway.
