GARDENA, Calif. — John T. Robinson, a former Vicksburg resident, died Thursday, Aug. 25, 2011. He was 63.

Mr. Robinson was a 1969 graduate of Rosa A. Temple High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in Vietnam. He retired in April 2010 with over 30 years of service at Hughes Air Conditioning.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John T. Sr. and Bermise Robinson; and a brother, Willie Charles Williams.

He leaves to cherish his memory two sons, Everett Robinson of Aurora, Ill., and Eric Robinson of Gardena; three grandchildren, Erica Robinson of Montgomery, Ala., Elise Robinson of Aurora and Ez’ryel Robinson of Gardena; seven sisters, Mamie Smith of Vicksburg, Annie Mary Jones of Realto, Calif., Loutisha (Jim) McReynolds of San Bernardino, Calif., Marion (Marvin) Smith of Grand Rapids, Mich., Laura Robinson and Ellen (Dan) Thomas, all of Arizona, and Tommie Robinson of Vicksburg; a brother, Joseph Russel of Vicksburg; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Simpson Family Mortuary, 3443 W. Manchester Blvd., Inglewood, CA 90305. Visitation will be until 8 tonight and Saturday at 10 a.m. until the service at the funeral home.
