A Vicksburg man faces an aggravated assault charge on a police officer after he reportedly struck a city officer who was trying to arrest him during a domestic disturbance at the man’s home Saturday, Vicksburg police Sgt. Sandra Williams said.
Raymond Guin, 37, 3365 U.S. 61 South, was being held without bond in the Issaquena County Jail pending an initial appearance Wednesday in Vicksburg Municipal Court.
Williams said the incident occurred about 6 p.m. when Guin resisted officers’ attempts to take him into custody. She would not say if Guin used a weapon to hit the officer, adding that the case remains under investigation.
The unidentified officer was taken to River Region Medical Center, where he was treated and released, Williams said.
