Mejia’s homer, a two-run shot in the fifth inning, put the M-Braves ahead 4-0. Mejia finished the season with 26 home runs and 99 RBIs, both team records.

The M-Braves won for the sixth time in seven games and finished with a winning record (36-34) in the second half of the Southern League season. It’s the first time the M-Braves have finished above .500 since the second half of the 2008 season.

Mobile won the second-half title in the South Division by 11 games over the M-Braves. Mississippi went 25-45 and finished in last place in the first half.

Mobile will open the Southern League playoffs on Thursday against Birmingham. The other best-of-five, first-round series will feature Chattanooga and Tennessee.
