If you’re not afraid of the dark, wonder if ghosts really exist, like reading horror tales or don’t mind vampires, the Warren County-Vicksburg Public Library is the place to be next Saturday for The Things that Go Bump Celebration.
Sixteen authors, artists and investigators will attend, said Jennifer Smith, assistant director of the library. “At certain times during the day, each author will stand and talk about their book and how they write,” she said.
The event will run from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and will include paranormal, sci-fi, horror, steampunk and fantasy authors.
“We hosted an event like this at Christmas — The Yuletide Souls Fest,” said Smith. “We will be doing another one.”
Alexander S. Brown, a local horror author, has helped organize the event, Smith said. Brown, 26, attended Vicksburg High School, and his newest work, “Traumatized,” is a collection of short stories.
Next Saturday’s event is free, but donations will be accepted for the Child and Parent Center, formerly the Child Abuse Prevention Center. A $5 raffle will give participants the chance at a ghost hunt.
