Martha Dean Gray

CRAWFORD — Martha Dean Gray, a former Vicksburg resident, died Thursday, Sept. 8, 2011, at OCH Regional Medical Center. She was 81.

Mrs. Gray was born in Mayhew, Miss. She was a member of DAR, Colonial Dames and The Jamestown Society. She was a retired registered nurse with more than 50 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Huey and Rachel Hodnett Blankenship; two brothers, John Blankenship and Jack Blankenship; and a granddaughter, Rachel Joy Kilpatrick.

Survivors include her husband, Robert Lee Gray Sr. of Crawford; her son, Robert Lee “Bubba” Gray Jr. of Crawford; her daughter, DeLynn G. Willard of Nesbit; a sister, Clara B. Peterson; three grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.

Graveside services will be at 4 today at Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery in Crawford under the direction of Welch Funeral Home with the Revs. James Hutcherson and Allen Dees officiating.

Pallbearers will be Mark Peterson, Sam Wayne Gray, Randy Gray, Dr. William C. “Billy” Gray, Preston Self and Jimmy D. Kilpatrick.
