Erves, Burrs to wed at Hickory Tree M.B.

Jeannie Gail Erves of Mesquite, Texas, and Kenneth Burrs of Plano, Texas, will be married at 1 p.m. Sept. 17, 2011, at Hickory Tree M.B. Church in Vicksburg. A reception will follow at Unique Impressions, Mississippi 27 South. All relatives and friends are invited to attend.

Miss Erves is the daughter of Malissie Erves of Vicksburg and the late Rev. Willie Erves Sr. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. John Erves Sr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Pearson.

Mr. Burrs is the son of Maxine Burrs of St. Joseph, La. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. James Long.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Warren Central High School. She received an Associate of Applied Science degree in child care development from Utica Junior College and a bachelor’s in social work with a minor in special education from Jackson State University. She was a dean’s scholar.

Miss Erves is a counselor with the Dallas County Juvenile Detention Center and Mesquite Independent School District in Mesquite.

The prospective groom is a graduate of Davidson High School in St. Joseph. He attended Southern University in Baton Rouge and pursued a career in the U.S. Marine Corps.

Mr. Burrs is employed with the Collins County Sheriff Department in Plano.
