Mr. and Mrs. William Scott Grimes of Dumas, Ark., announce the engagement of their daughter, Patricia Talmadge of Memphis, to Jeffrey Joseph Harris, also of Memphis. Mr. Harris is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Presley Harris of Germantown, Tenn.

Miss Grimes is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Cogbill of Star City, Ark., and the late Sherry Robertson Grimes and Mr. and Mrs. William Edd Grimes, all of Grady, Ark.

Mr. Harris is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Benjamin Harris Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Billy Joe Gunn, all of Vicksburg.

The bride-elect received a bachelor’s degree in communication disorders from the University of Arkansas and a master’s degree in speech-language pathology from Vanderbilt University. She was a member of Chi Omega sorority.

Miss Grimes is a speech-language pathologist for Methodist-LeBonheur Hospital in Germantown

The prospective groom received a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Mississippi. He was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity.

Mr. Harris is employed in dental sales for Dentsply Inc.

The wedding will be at 6 p.m. Oct. 1, 2011, at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Memphis. A reception will follow at The Tower in Memphis.
