Miss Rainey to wed Mr. Green on Oct. 9

Justin M. Green of Vicksburg and Allyson S. Rainey of New Orleans will be married Oct. 9, 2011.

Miss Rainey is the daughter of Master Sgt. Gilda Williams of Osyka and Octave J. Rainey III of New Orleans. Mr. Green is the son of James and Linda Green and the grandson of Irene Brown, all of Vicksburg.

The bride-elect is a graduate of Columbus Academic High School in Columbus, Ohio, where she was recognized for academics at the state level in various activities. She was a member of the marching band and the basketball, drill, track and swimming teams.

She attended Columbus State Community College at age 14 and received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and chemistry and a Master of Business Administration degree in marketing/management from Spelman College.

She is a member of Delta Sigma Theta sorority.

Miss Rainey has worked as a field account manager in business sales for T-Mobile and is pursuing a doctorate in international business.

The prospective groom is a 2001 graduate of Warren Central High School, where he was a member of the basketball team and received the 2001 Norseman Award. He was a member of several clubs and served as commander of the NJROTC program.

He graduated with honors in 2006 from Jackson State University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in history. He served as commander of the ROTC Tiger Battalion and was initiated into Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity.

He graduated with a 4.0 grade-point average from Grand Canyon University, where he received a master’s degree in education administration and is pursuing a doctorate in organization leadership.

Mr. Green is assistant principal at Cardozo Middle School in the Jackson Public School District. He serves in the Army Reserves, has deployed twice to Iraq in support of contingency operations and is assigned to the 8/95th BN, 2nd BDE, 94th Division in Bossier City, La.
