Jailer wannabe held in county jail after records check

A Vicksburg man who went to the Warren County Sheriff’s Department to apply for a job as a jailer was jailed instead after a records check showed he is wanted in Florida on an outstanding warrant for driving under the influence-manslaughter, Sheriff Martin Pace said.

Ronald Wade, 31, 1406 Sky Farm Ave., was arrested by deputies at 9:10 a.m. Wednesday.

Pace said Wade had been involved in a wreck in Manatee County, was treated in a hospital and then came to Vicksburg where he has family. Wade had never been arrested in Florida on the charge, but the initial background check showed the open case there, said Pace.
