Anthony Maurice Sims died Sunday, Sept. 18, 2011, as the result of a car accident. He was 40.

Mr. Sims was born in Kankakee, Ill., where he graduated from Jones Commercial High School. He served in the Marine Corps, Platoon 1023, graduating in 1992 from Camp Pendleton in San Diego, Calif.

He was preceded in death by his father, Cal Hudson.

He is survived by his mother, Brenda Sims; three sons, Nathaniel Sims, Matthew Sims and Kyle Sims, all of Chicago; four daughters, Raven Sims, Kianna Sims, Danyelle Sims and Kyara Sims, all of Chicago; his grandfather, Albert Sims; his grandmother, Lucy Sims; and nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

Services were Saturday in Harvey, Ill. A memorial service will be here at 11 a.m. Saturday at Mount Ararat M.B. Church, 50 Culkin Road, with the Rev. Johnny Williams officiating. Repast will follow.
