Greenville gives WC opportunity for some success

The pain of Warren Central football isn’t that the team is 0-5.

It’s the fact the Vikings have been just a few plays away from being competitive in all of their losses.

But all of that pain can be relieved and forgotten with a solid run down the stretch. If the Vikings can reverse their downward momentum and win out, a playoff berth from Region 2-6A is not out of the question.

While the losing has worn on the team, the effort in practice hasn’t looked like one from a winless club.

“Mentally, they keep on keeping on,” WC coach Josh Morgan said. “The biggest thing you worry about as a coach is your players’ morale and it’s a credit to them that they’ve shown up every day, ready to work. They’ve stayed the course even though they haven’t had the success they’ve wanted.”

The old saying is that winning solves all things, and nothing could be more applicable for WC, both for this season and in building for the future.
