PCA hopes to rediscover formula for winning ways

As they hit the stretch run of the season, the Porters Chapel Eagles aren’t really looking for wins. They’re looking for something much more vaulable — consistency.
PCA won its first three games, but has since lost three of four. The final four games, which begins Friday night at Sylva-Bay, include a pair of district matchups that will determine PCA’s playoff destination. Getting back on track before crunch time is a primary goal, coach Wade Patrick said.
“I just want us to play good, week-in and week-out, no matter the competition. If we do that, we can be a pretty good ball team,” Patrick said. “We haven’t built it back-to-back-to-back. We’ve got to get back on track. We’ve got to run the football and be able to protect it.”
The Eagles (4-3) will certainly have an opportunity to look good on Friday. Sylva-Bay reached the MAIS Class A semifinals last season, but has struggled since losing star running back Cody Prewitt to graduation.
