Trinity Baptist Church is 60, and a celebration will run today and Sunday.

“The celebration is a testimony of the work that we share with our community,” said the Rev. Ron Burch, pastor of Trinity for three years. “It’s 60 years of sharing our faith in this community.”

The church will hold special services delivered by former pastors this evening and Sunday morning.

Tonight’s service, which will be delivered by retired pastor the Rev. Howard D. Smith, will be at Trinity’s former building at 1804 Sky Farm Ave., which is now Lighthouse Baptist Church. Sunday’s events will be at the current facility, 3365 Porters Chapel Road, with former pastor the Rev. Doug Westmoreland giving the sermon. History of the church will be shared at both services, Burch said.

“Present members, former members and friends are invited to come and take part,” Burch said.

Trinity is part of the Mississippi Baptist Convention.
