The Southern Cultural Heritage Center’s fall outdoor concert series, Classics in the Courtyard, will kick off Friday.
“Last year’s first concert had 125 people attend,” said Annette Kirklin, executive director of the SCHC. “We already have reservations for 60,” she said.
With Friday’s forecast sunny and clear and with temperatures in the lower 80s, the lunchtime event should be pleasant with Celtic music being performed by Nick and Julia Blake. Lunch will be served by Southern Sisters cafe and reservations need to be made by 5 p.m. today.
Kirklin said, “There is going to be a big announcement at the concert Friday,” and said she is so excited about it.
This is the fourth year the SCHC has offered the noon concert series.
Last year’s attendance for all four concerts was around 800.
Participants may listen to the concert free, but lunch is $9.
