Calling all ghosts and ghouls — events set for Halloween weekend offer opportunities for some spooky fun.
Spooky Pooch Contest
The annual fundraiser for Paws Rescue, a no-kill animal adoption agency, will be Oct. 29 at the Outlets at Vicksburg.
Awards will be given for Most Creative, Best Owner/Pet Duo, Spookiest and Silliest. Proceeds will help pets in need.
Call the outlets at 601-636-7434 or visit Paws’ website, www.pawsrescuepets.org, for more information.
Halloween Costume Contest
and Treats on the Streets
The 24th annual downtown event for kids will begin at 9 a.m. Oct. 29 at Veto and Washington streets.
First, second and third place trophies will be awarded, and a parade along Washington Street will follow. Also, stick around for trick-or-treating with downtown merchants.
For more information, call the Vicksburg Main Street office at 601-634-4527, e-mail kimh@ vicksburg.org or visit www.downtownvicksburg.org.
