Firearms were among the items taken in two car burglaries Thursday, Vicksburg police Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

Stewart said a .38-caliber special revolver valued at $300 was reported stolen about 1:34 p.m. Thursday from an unlocked Chevrolet Traverse parked in the 3300 block of Halls Ferry Road.

About five hours later, he said, a Smith & Wesson .357-caliber Magnum valued at $450, an HTC Inspire cell phone valued at $150 and a Phillips MP3 player valued at $50 were reported stolen about 6:31 p.m. from a 1999 Chevrolet Silverado parked in the 100 block of Magnolia Road.
