Miss Smith, Mr. Walker to recite vows on Dec. 10

Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Armond Smith of Ridgeland announce the engagement of their daughter, Brittany Melissa, to Benjamin Newton Walker IV. Mr. Walker is the son of Ellen Jaggard Walker of Jackson and Benjamin Newton Walker III of Madison.

Miss Smith is the granddaughter of Mrs. Charles Templeton of Vicksburg and the late Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth Vernon Woodward Jr. of Long Beach.

Mr. Walker is the grandson of Ann Louise Jaggard and the late Hunter Lowry Jaggard of Beaumont, Texas; the late Eunice Walker Watkins of Madison; and the late Dr. Benjamin Newton Walker Jr. of Jackson.

The bride-elect is an honor graduate of Jackson Academy, where she was class valedictorian. She graduated summa cum laude from Mississippi State University with a bachelor’s degree in accountancy and a master’s degree in professional accountancy. She was a member of Kappa Delta sorority.

Miss Smith is a CPA with Deloitte & Touche LLP in Nashville, Tenn.

The prospective groom is a graduate of Jackson Academy. He graduated from Mississippi State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in wildlife and fisheries and a master’s degree in business administration.

Mr. Walker is a senior mortgage banker with the Home Lending Source in Nashville.

The couple will exchange vows Dec. 10, 2011, at Covenant Presbyterian Church. A reception will follow at the Country Club of Jackson.

Following a wedding trip to St. Lucia, the couple will make their home in Nashville.
