Two longtime Anderson-Tully executives have been promoted to head Anderson-Tully Lumber Co. and Anderson-Tully Co., chairman of the board and chief executive officer Chris Zinkhan said.
Richard L. Wilkerson, Anderson-Tully executive vice president, was promoted to Anderson-Tully Lumber Co. president, and W. Norman Davis, Anderson-Tully executive vice president for land acquisition and sales, was promoted to Anderson-Tully Co. president. The promotions were effective immediately.
The promotions follow the resignation of Chip Dickinson as president and CEO of Anderson-Tully to join E. Ritter and Co. of Marked Tree, Ark., as president. His last day was Oct. 19.
Zinkhan took over as chief executive officer, and will work in Charlotte, N.C.
Anderson-Tully Lumber Co. owns and operates the sawmill and manufacturing operations in Vicksburg. Anderson-Tully Co., also based in Vicksburg, owns and operates the company’s forest lands.
As lumber company president, Wilkerson will oversee lumber manufacturing and sales, human resources and information technology.
He began his career in 1978 in the Vicksburg operations and later spent 10 years as a sales representative with Anderson-Tully in Memphis. He returned to Vicksburg in 1996 as vice president for lumber sales.
Wilkerson serves on the executive committee of the Hardwood Manufacturers Association and is a former board member of the American Hardwood Export Council. He serves on the YMCA Board of Directors and is involved with the Salvation Army. He and his wife, Ruth, are members of The Church of the Holy Trinity, Episcopal, and have two sons, George and Gordon.
As Anderson-Tully Co. president, Davis will be responsible for timberlands, forestry operations, wildlife management and river transportation.
He worked from 1978 to 1990 in the Anderson-Tully forestry department managing timberland primarily north of Memphis.
He worked for Temple-Inland Forest Products Corp. from 1990 through 1999, where he developed and implemented a hardwood- management program for lands in Texas, Louisiana, Georgia and Alabama.
Davis returned to Anderson-Tully in 1999 as lands manager. He is chairman of the Southern Hardwood Forestry Research Group and vice chairman of the Southern Hardwood Forestry Group. He and his wife, Kyran, have three children and two grandchildren.
Dickinson joined Anderson-Tully in 1995 and was the liaison in Anderson-Tully’s 2006 acquisition by an affiliate of The Forestland Group of Chapel Hill, N. C.
“We are very appreciative of Chip’s contribution and long service to the company,” Zinkhan said. “Chip, Richard and Norman have been instrumental in improving the productivity and efficiency of the company since the merger.”
