The operator of a Vicksburg cab company was arrested this morning after drugs were found in the trunk of her cab, Lt. Bobby Stewart said.

Shereda Manuel, 46, 125 Eastover Drive, Apt. M-7, was stopped by police at Walnut and South streets at 2:17 a.m., Stewart said. The officer recognized Manuel as someone whose license had been suspended, he said.

Manuel is the owner of Pick-Me-Up Cab Service, Stewart said. No information about the company was available.

A K-9 unit searched the cab and found a pound and a half of marijuana in the trunk, said the lieutenant.

Manuel was charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, he said.

She was being held without bond because she is currently on probation in an interstate agreement between the Mississippi Department of Corrections and the state of Virginia, he added.
