UTICA — Resheka Lashundra “Sheka” McGriggs died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2011, in Utica as the result of an automobile accident. She was 23.

A 2006 graduate of Hinds AHS, Ms. McGriggs attended Hinds Community College. She was a certified nurse’s assistant with Morrison Heights Child Development Center in Clinton. She was a member of Greater Zion Travelers M.B. Church in Utica.

She was preceded in death by a grandfather, Dan Charles Griffin Sr.

She is survived by a son, Ian Dunson of Utica; her mother, Tammie McGriggs of Utica; her father, Dan Griffin Jr. of Utica; two brothers, Demell McGriggs of Jackson and Jovonta McGriggs of Utica; one sister, Shequila McGriggs of Atlanta; her grandmothers, Emma Carson and Betty Griffin, both of Utica; and other relatives.
