Playing without injured point guard Edward Davis, Vicksburg was stuck in neutral against Forest Hill.

Unable to use the press that generates so much of their offense, the Gators only scored 22 points in the first three quarters. Forest Hill took a 13-point lead into the fourth quarter, then pulled away with an 11-3 run.

Chris Bilbo scored 16 points for Forest Hill and Patrick Banks added 15. Tre’Darius Carter led VHS (3-4) with 13 points.

Davis suffered a mild concussion last week against Canton and is required to sit out a week under the MHSAA’s player safety guidelines. Coach Dellie C. Robinson was hopeful Davis will be able to play in Friday night’s home game against South Delta.

“We knew it was going to be tough without Edward playing point guard. Without your ball handlers, you see what you get,” Robinsons said. “Without him in the game, we’re a totally different ball club.”
