HERMANVILLE — Martha Anderson died Thursday, Dec. 1, 2011, at her home. She was 74.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester and Janie Ellis-Banks; two sons, Melvin Anderson and Alvin Banks; and two sisters, Julia Ashmore and Myrtle Leasey.
Survivors include five daughters, Clora Banks-O’Quinn, Emma Banks, Mary Banks and Margie Hughes, all of Hermanville, and Cassie Darden of Port Gibson; six sons, Casey Anderson and Wayne Banks, both of Port Gibson, Dexter Anderson and Herbert Banks, both of Jackson, and Derwin Banks of Byrum and Johnnie Banks of Utica; four brothers, Jimmy Banks of Iowa, Johnny
Banks of North Chicago and Edgar Banks and Clarence Banks, both of Waukegan, Ill.; 42 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Christian Church in Hermanville with the Rev. Lonnie O’Quinn officiating. Burial will follow at Holly Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 1 until 5 at Thompson Funeral Home in Port Gibson and Saturday at the church from 1 p.m. until the service.
