Robert Thomas Ross

LORMAN — Robert Thomas Ross died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011, at River Region Medical Center. He was 74.
Mr. Ross lived in Lorman most of his life. He worked for Westinghouse for 13 years, then the Mississippi Forestry Commission before opening Ross Grocery Store.
He was a member of the Cane Ridge Methodist Church in Lorman and Masonic Lodge No. 3 in Port Gibson. He served in the Navy.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jamie Ross; a brother, Charles Ray Ross; and his parents, Frank and Mary Lois Smith.
Survivors include one daughter, Robbie Beard and husband Alvin of Vicksburg; two grandchildren, Alvin J. Beard and fiancé Carol Ann of Vicksburg and Joseph Robert Beard and wife Betsy of Ruston, La.; a great-granddaughter, Rylee Ann Beard of Vicksburg; two sisters, Frances Ross Blue and husband Thomas of Ethel, La., and Mary Ross Roussel and husband Bobby of Baton Rouge; an uncle and aunt, Jimmy and Jennie Lee Embry of Lorman; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cane Ridge Methodist Church in Lorman with Minister Curtis Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at Cane Ridge Cemetery in Lorman. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 tonight at Glenwood Funeral Home in Port Gibson and Wednesday at the church from 9 a.m. until the service.
