YAZOO CITY — Sadie J. Hood died Monday, Dec. 19, 2011, at her home. She was 92.

Mrs. Hood was born in Holmes County. She was a homemaker and a member of Westwood Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, David Wigley and Annie P. Winstead; her husband, Robert B. Hood; and a son, Bernon Ray Hood.

Survivors include her daughter, Janice Hurley of Yazoo City; two sons, Ned Hood of Brandon and Mike Hood of Yazoo City; a brother, Ned Wigley of Benton; a sister, Ruby Earline Johnson; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Stricklin-King Funeral Home in Yazoo City with the Rev. Gina Vancleave officiating. Burial will follow at Midway Baptist Cemetery in Yazoo County. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be William Bradley Shanks, Ethan Michael Penning, Heath Michael Hood and Matthew Smith.
