Two thefts were reported in the county , Sheriff Martin Pace said.
A change machine at T&S Tunnel Car Wash, on County Lane off U.S. 61 North, was reported stolen about 8 a.m. Friday. The concrete wall around the machine had been broken, the sheriff said. It wasn’t known how much cash was in the machine.
Also around 8 a.m. Friday, several hundred pounds of pecans, no value available, were reported stolen from the Pecan Shack in the 1100 block of U.S. 80. It is the second such theft reported this year, Pace said, and surrounding areas have reported similar burglaries. A pound of pecans this year is selling for about $13.
