Michael Dwayne Morrow Sr.

SATARTIA — Michael Dwayne Morrow Sr., born in Memphis, Tenn., on Aug. 16, 1944, passed away at River Region Medical Center on Dec. 24, 2011. He was a resident of Satartia for many years. A memorial service was held at Stricklin-King Funeral Home in Yazoo City at 11 a.m. today.
Mike graduated from Yazoo City High School in 1962 and then attended Mississippi State. Through the years, he worked primarily in civil construction for Ford Construction Co. (Dyersburg, Tenn.); Fordice Construction Co. (Vicksburg); W.G. Yates Construction Co. (Philadelphia, Miss.); and Oddee Smith Contractors (Brookhaven, Miss.) He retired from Oddee Smith in 2009.
Mike was preceded in death by his father, Joe W. Morrow Jr. He is survived by his son, Michael Dwayne Morrow Jr. of Spokane, Wash.; his mother, Roma Y. Morrow of Ridgeland, Miss.; brother, Joe W. Morrow (Glenda) of Fort Worth, Texas; and sister, Judy M. Walton of Mobile, Ala.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to the American Diabetes Association.
The family expresses special thanks to the doctors and nurses of River Region Hospital and to Betty Green Morrow, Satartia.
