Residents with weather radios will hear Mississippi’s next statewide tornado drill Wednesday.

The drill begins at 9:15 a.m. Drills will be announced through the NOAA weather radios, available through retail electronics outlets and online, Warren County Emergency Management Director John Elfer said.

Schools and other organizations planning to participate are asked to call Warren County Emergency Management at 601-636-1544 or send an e-mail to johne@co.warren.ms.us. Those with radios without audible alerts are still encouraged to participate, Elfer said.

The chance for inclement weather Wednesday is predicted after 10 a.m., mainly in the afternoon and evening, and is not expected to affect the drill, Elfer said.
