Cash was reported missing in two burglaries in the city Tuesday.

At 8:16 a.m., the owner of a black 2001 Nissan Altima reported $204 had been taken from the center console of the unlocked car, Capt. Bobby Stewart said.

Separately, thieves got away with about $20 in change from a home in the 100 block of Hazel Drive. The break-in was reported at 6:34 p.m., Stewart said.

No other items were reported missing, and change is a popular target for burglars because it has a quick turnaround on the street, Stewart said.
