A walker in the 11th annual Main Street Mardi Gras Parade Sunday afternoon waves to parade-goers lined up by barricades for beads and trinkets thrown from 32 floats. Riders on the Double Dutch Krewe bus toss beads. Main Street director Kim Hopkins estimated today that 3,000 people lined Washington Street for the parade. The float winner was Danny Hearn Trucking; Best Business, Monsour’s at the Biscuit Company; Best Nonprofit, Elks Lodge; Most Original, The Home Depot; Most Enthusiastic, Vicksburg Women’s Care; Most Unique, Double Dutch Krewe; Best Throw, Krewe of the Galla-Gator.
