Brooke Allen Hughes and Bill Butler, both of Vicksburg, will be married in a private ceremony March 17, 2012, at Salem Baptist Church in Burnside, Miss. A reception will follow in the fellowship hall of the church.

Ms. Hughes is the daughter of Ricky and Maurine Allen of Mize, Miss. She is the granddaughter of Mary Ellen Richardson and the late Hillard Blakeney and the late Marvin and Bessie Allen, all of Mize.

Mr. Butler is the son of Lamar and Carlene Butler of Philadelphia, Miss. He is the grandson of the late Carl and Hattie Reese and the late Herman and Lillian Butler, all of Philadelphia.

The bride-elect is a 1994 graduate of Porters Chapel Academy. She attended the University of Mississippi and Alcorn State University.

Ms. Hughes is a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics Lab instructor at Dana Road Elementary.

The prospective groom is a 1989 graduate of Warren Central High School. He attended Mississippi State University.

Mr. Butler is employed at International Paper.
