Southern Miss rolls over Charleston Southern

Mason Robbins collected four hits and Ryan Ellis added four runs batted in during his collegiate debut as Southern Miss exploded offensively for the second straight game in a 16-2 victory Friday over Charleston Southern in the opening day of the Auburn Tournament at Plainsman Park.
Southern Miss got a strong starting pitching performance by sophomore Jay Myrick (1-0) who limited the Buccaneers (4-5) to a pair of runs with six strikeouts.
Ashley Graeter added three hits for the Golden Eagles, while Connor Barron, Michael Sterling, Travis Creel and Ellis had two hits each.
Following Ellis in the RBI column was Blake Brown with three, along with Barron and Creel with two apiece.
