Mary Steed Floyd died Thursday, March 1, 2012, at her home. She was 88.

Mrs. Floyd attended public school in Claiborne County.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Annie Belle Robinson Steed; her husband, Abe Floyd Sr.; two sons, Abe Floyd Jr. and Robert Floyd; one daughter, Eva Floyd Morrow; two sisters, Tina Steed and Gladys Washington; and one brother, Wilbert Steed.

Survivors include her daughters, Annie Floyd Brown of Jackson, Clara Floyd Myles of Milwaukee, Wis., and Thelma Floyd Roach and Betty Floyd, both of Vicksburg; one sister, Bessie Hamilton of Marrero, La.; one brother, Dannie Steed of Vicksburg; 17 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; and nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lakeview Memorial Funeral Home with Joel J. Kinlow officiating. Burial will follow at Seven Star Cemetery in Utica. Visitation will be today from 2 until 6 at the funeral home.
