PORT GIBSON — Edward Coleman died Monday, March 5, 2012, at the University of Mississippi Medical Center. He was 80.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Coleman and Elizabeth Crawford.

Survivors include his stepmother, Mary Ann Coleman of Port Gibson; five daughters, Darlean Williams of Port Gibson, Lillie Ruth Shephard of Ontario, Calif., Mary Walker of Chicago, Jacqueline Langford of South Elgin, Ill., and Fredricka Moore of Shaw; four sons, Dan Trevillion of Kansas City, Kan., Brandon Newton and Marcus RayKee Newton, both of Memphis, and Courtney Newton of Shaw; seven sisters, Thelma Nixon of Denver, Colo., Lucille Collier and Eloise Coleman, both of Baton Rouge, Mary Jenkins of Hermanville, Rose Coleman Barrett of Jackson and Augusta Coleman McClure and Margie Wilkes Davis, both of Port Gibson; four brothers, Wilbert Coleman of Memphis, Knox Coleman and James Wilkes, both of Port Gibson, and Homer Wilkes of Jackson; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends, including Maggie Robinson and Karen Bourn, both of Port Gibson.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Mercy Seat M.B. Church in Port Gibson with the Rev. Ray Coleman officiating. Burial will follow at Clark Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be today from 1 until 6 at Thompson Funeral Home and Saturday at the church from noon until the service.
