This was the fist Community Shred Day in Vicksburg, but the event has been going on around the State since 2007. Since 2007, 196,000 pounds of personal documents have been shredded and disposed of during Community Shred Day events according to the Attorney General’s Office. After shredding, the documents are compressed into 1,100 pound bales and shipped out to be remade into paper products, according to Shred-It worker Joey Harrington..(Brenden Neville/The Vicksburg Post
