BROOKHAVEN — Ivy Elaine Smith died Monday, March 19, 2012, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Brookhaven. She was 58.

Mrs. Smith was retired from the Mississippi Department of Human Services and worked as a cashier at Walmart. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jazy L. Sr. and Lessie Twiner Maher; a son, Russell Hudson; and two brothers and one sister.

Survivors include her husband, Lanny Smith; one daughter, Tara Ashley Hudson; two brothers, Joe Maher and Eddie Maher; three sisters, Patricia Hatcher, Mary Watts and Joyce Cockrell; and one grandchild.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at New Providence Baptist Church in Hazlehurst. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Jefferson County. Visitation will be at the church from 5 until 8 tonight.
