Jean B. Baylot Jr.

Jean B. Baylot Jr. died Tuesday, March 27, 2012, at Vicksburg Convalescent Home. He was 84.
Born in New Orleans, he was a longtime resident of Vicksburg and the son of the late Jean Baptiste Baylot Sr. and Agnes Clark Baylot.
Mr. Baylot served in the Navy during World War II and in the Army in the Korean War, where he received the Purple Heart Medal. He was a retired insurance salesman and a member of the Catholic faith.
He is survived by a daughter, Rena Wooten of Vicksburg; two sons, Dr. Paul Rocconi (Margaret) of Hattiesburg and Larry Rocconi Sr. (Nina) of Vicksburg; three grandchildren, Larry Rocconi Jr., Courtney Houser and Blake Wooten; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Marie Gandy of Hazlehurst; and a brother, Robert Baylot Sr. of Vicksburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mattie Lou Baylot; and a brother, Charles Baylot.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Riles Funeral Home with Monsignor Patrick Farrell, pastor of St. Paul Catholic Church, officiating. Burial will be at Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Thursday until the service.
