Bob Williams

NEWELLTON — Bob Williams died Thursday, March 29, 2012, at his home near Newellton. He was 94.

Mr. Williams was born in Union Parish and had lived in Tensas Parish since 1947. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of United Pentecostal Church of Newellton.

He was a pecan grower.

He is survived by his wife, Clarice Williams of Newellton; a son, Darrell D. Williams of Jackson; a daughter, Alice McVay of Newellton; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 today at United Pentecostal Church with the Revs. Cecil Perry and Don Privett officiating. Burial will follow at Legion Cemetery in Newellton under the direction of Crothers-Glenwood Funeral Home of Tallulah. Visitation will be at the church from 12:30 p.m. until the service.

Pallbearers will be Gary Haggert, Bill Beasley, Fred Herrington, Tom Vogel, David Sonjai and Verrell Day.
