Vicksburg High sprinter Terrell Smith ripped through his heat at the Viking Relays Saturday afternoon to clock a blistering 10.26 time in the boys’ 100 meter dash. If the time is verified by the United States Track and Field Association next week, it would be the fastest time in the nation this season, besting South Grand Prairie, Texas sprinter Abraham Hall’s time of 10.4 on March 22. Vicksburg was third in 4×100 meter relay and seventh in 4×200 relay. Port Gibson, the defending Class 4A team champion, won the meet with 140 points. Warren Central was second with 102 followed by Vicksburg in third place with 80 points. Lake Providence, Raymond, Yazoo City, Yazoo County and Leland rounded out the meet. The Vicksburg girls nipped Warren Central 149-147 to take the girls’ team title.
