LAKE HAVASU CITY, Ariz. — Virginia E. Franks died Tuesday, April 24, 2012, in Lake Havasu City. She was 97.

Mrs. Franks was born Feb. 25, 1915, in Danville, Ill., to Jacob and Ethel Bush.

She lived in Vicksburg for more than 30 years before moving to Lake Havasu City in 2010. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Horace Franks; and five brothers.

She is survived by two daughters, Beverly Marquardt and Dorlene Ferguson Frost, both of Lake Havasu City; one sister, Ivern Grimes of Long Island, N.Y.; seven grandchildren, including Mike Ferguson of Vicksburg and Sheryl Ferguson Ross of Utica; 18 great-grandchildren; and 23 great-great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be May 19, 2012, at Central Baptist Church in Springhill, La. Arrangements are under the direction of Lake Havasu Mortuary and Crematory and Springhill’s Bailey Mortuary.
