City woman jailed in kidnapping

A Vicksburg woman accused of kidnapping her girlfriend at gunpoint was held without bail today.

Veronica Miller, 23, 119 Alcorn Drive, was arrested at 12:48 this morning and charged with kidnapping and attempted aggravated domestic violence, police Capt. Bobby Stewart said.

Miller is accused of forcing her girlfriend into a vehicle at gunpoint from another residence in the 100 block of Alcorn, Stewart said.

As Miller was attempting to flee, her vehicle was stopped and she was arrested by Patrolman Cleon Butler, who saw the car on Alcorn Drive, Stewart said.

Miller was held this morning at police headquarters awaiting her initial court appearance.
