A Rolling Fork man was killed Thursday morning in a head-on crash on Mississippi 16 near Rolling Fork.

David Ewing, 43, 294 Rogers Road, Rolling Fork, was pronounced dead at the scene about 10:45 a.m., Sharkey County Coroner Angelia Eason said.

Ewing was driving a 2011 green GMC Sierra west on Mississippi 16 about a mile east of U.S. 61 North when he crossed into the eastbound lane and struck head-on a 2006 Peterbilt truck loaded with cotton seed, said Mississippi Highway Safety Patrol spokesman Cpl. Odis Easterling.

The Peterbilt truck was driven by Kenneth Ingram, 46, no address available, Easterling said.

No charges have been filed and the crash is still under investigation, Easterling said.
