Laura Tolliver Kees

Laura Tolliver Kees, a former resident of Vicksburg, died Sunday, May 13, 2012, at her home in Lafayette, La. She was 57.

A native of Detroit, Mrs. Kees was a member of Jones Chapel of Vicksburg and attended Rosa A. Temple High School in Vicksburg.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Kees; and her brother, William Tolliver.

Survivors include a daughter, Regina Kees of Lafayette; two sons, Michael Kees Jr. of Atlanta, and Alexander Tolliver; eight sisters, Anna Dillard of Gulfport; Patricia Tolliver, Carolyn Tolliver and Willette Jones, all of Vicksburg, Debra Delcourt, Linda Tolliver, Valerie Tolliver, and Cheryl Tolliver, all of Lafayette; a brother, George Lewis of Palmdale, Calif.; five half-brothers, William Humphrey of San Pedro, Calif., Kennith Humphrey, David Humphrey, Willie Peaches and Eric Jones, all of Vicksburg; five grandchildren; other relatives, and special friend, Davis Frank of Lafayette.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Monday at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Pastor Linda Sweezer officiating. Burial will follow with Robbins Funeral Home in charge.

Visitation will be today at Robbins Funeral Home from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Monday at the funeral home chapel from 10 a.m. until the service.
