The Southern Cultural Heritage Center, 1302 Adams St. has scheduled ballroom dance lessons and a mixed-media art class for June.

From 5 to 6 p.m. June 3 The Rumba will be taught by instructor James Frechette, owner of the Applause Dance Factory. The cost is $10 per person.

From 9 a.m. to noon June 23 and from 1 to 5 p.m. June 24, Painting the Forest Floor, a mixed-media art class, where bits of nature collected by participants will be used to create a work of art, will be led by local artist, Jean Blue.

The cost is $20 for members and $25 for nonmembers and is part of the Hobbs Freeman Art and Nature Celebration.
